- 2020 Spring Semester First Aid and CPR Training Program was Held
- College of Education (Dean of College KIM, Jae-Hyoun) held First Aid and CPR Training Program for students taking teaching training courses on June 23th. College of Education is holding the program 4 times a year, as students must participate in at least two sessions in order to get teacher’s license. With the instructor from Jongno-gu Health Center, 125 students completed the training program of 2 hours and 30 minutes this semester. One of the participants said, “It was a great opportunity to learn what I have to do in case of emergency.” The reason why the number of participants in this semester's CPR program is low is because only those who are scheduled to graduate were required to participate in the program to prevent the spread of Covid19.

- SKKU produced 92 of Fianl Successful Candidates in 2020 Teacher's Recruitment Exam
- According to the National Education Office's announcement, 92 of the SKKU students have passed the teacher's recruitment exam in 2020. 53 of the candidates belong to College of Education, 18 belong to Graduate School of Education, 12 belong to general departments, and 9 candidates are unable to seperate. College of Educaion(Dean Jae-Hyun Kim), which produced the most number of successful candidates, offers a variety of programs to help increase the rate of teacher recruitment, including student-oriented guidance, mentoring programs with alumni teachers, and mock in-depth interviews for recruitment exams.

- 2020 Online Orientation for Teaching Practice was held
- College of Education (Dean, Kim Jae-hyun) held "2020 Online Orientation for Teaching Practice" on May 7th(Thu) at 6:30 pm. The online orientation, conducted through ZOOM, a program for video conferences, was attended by Kim Hae-hyun, Dean of Education College, principals of high schools in each region, and about 210 students planned to do teaching practice in 2020. While helding Teaching Practice Orientation on online for the first time in the whole country due to Covid-19, high school principals of each region participated in the orientation for the pride of students planned to do teaching practice and explained perspectives on teaching. Kwon Byung-ok, principal of Sunlin Internet High School (Seoul), Kim Dong-chun, principal of Daejeon Imun High School (Daejeon), and Kwon Hyuk-je, principal of Jeonggwan High School (Busan), participated to explain the attitude of preliminary teachers expected at the school field, and emphasized once again that all students who do teaching practice are ambassadors representing Sungkyunkwan University. Due to Covid-19, Teaching Practice for the first semester of 2020 varies depending on the schedule of each school. Teaching Practice, which is a requirement for the teacher's certificate, is to teach and guide middle school and high school students for 4 weeks in school field.

- MOU for guarantee for basic scholar ability between Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and College of Education 2020 □ College of Education(Dean, Kim Jae-hyun) signed a memorandum of understanding for guarantee for basic scholar ability between Seoul Metropolitan Office if Education and College of Education, at 11a.m. February 21(Fri), in Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. At the event, attended Cho Hee-yeon, the superintendent of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, and 10 Deans of major universities in Seoul. □ Under the MOU, College of Education will participate in research on improvement of curriculum and related policies for reinforcement of basic teaching ability from teacher education level, through managing a virtuous cycle structure connecting educational service activity, educational practice program and teacher certification of preliminary teachers with the Seoul Jungbu and Seoul Gangnam Seocho District Office of Education. □ Dean Kim Jae-hyun said that the MOU will be a great opportunity for the college to cooperate with Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, and mutually develop.

- A simulated in-depth interview program for the secondary 2020 Teacher's Recruitment Exam was held
- The College of Education(Dean, Jae-Hyun Kim) held a simulated in-depth interview in the lecture room of Hoam Hall 50211 for applicants among the first pass candidates of the secondary 2020 Teacher's Recruitment Exam from 1.15(Wed) to 1.17(Fri). A total of 47 students (17 in Seoul, 28 in Gyeonggi, and 1 in Chungnam/Gyeongnam) participated in the event. The interview program was conducted by Hur Bong-gyu (a former principal of Suri High School) and Kwon Byung-ok (who is a principal of Sunrin Internet High School). The interview program hopes that good results can be found in the secondary 2020 Teacher's Recruitment Exam, officials said.

- The College of Education, has signed an MOU with Hanoi Korea International School in Vietnam
- The College of Education(Dean, Jae-Hyun Kim), has signed an MOU on December 18, 2019 for mutual cooperation with Hanoi Korea International School(Principal, Choi Kwang-ik). Since its establishment in 2006, Hanoi Korea International School in Vietnam has contributed to growing elites with Korean's identity and global mind by producing more than 1,900 graduates in elementary, middle and high school. This MOU will not only expand the educational opportunities for our students, but also provide a good opportunity to promote mutual exchanges in the area of academic exchanges and joint research between the two parties.

- 2018 Best Teacher Award Ceremony in Course Evaluation of College of Education
- On November 15(Friday), College of Education held “2018 Best Teacher Award Ceremony in Course Evaluation” at the Dean’s office of College of Education. Professor Seongwon Kang, said “I think By teaching students to fit their level of education, students were highly satisfied.” An official at the College of Education said, " We will try to open a highly satisfactory lecture such as Professor Seongwon Kang's lecture. " Jaebong Yoo, dean of the department of education and one instructors who received the award attended the Award Ceremony.

- 2019 Seokdam(昔潭) Scholarship Donation Ceremony
- On November 14, 2019 Seokdam(昔潭) Scholarship Donation Ceremony for the students in Department of Education was held at 600 Anniversary Hall. Professor KIM Jae Hyun, Dean of College of Education delivered the scholarship to the students. Seokdam Scholarship was established in 2011 by LEE Wan-Keun('61), the CEO of Shinsung Solar Energy Corporation and the honorary president of SKKU alumni, in order to encourage the students in Department of Education. Each semester, LEE Wan-Keun made endowment of scholarship to 5 students, 2,000,000won per student. Up to this day, the total amount of scholarship endowed is 180 million won, to 90 students. CEO LEE Wan-Keun mentioned "With the attitude to endure hardship, our alumnus should keep in mind that each one of you are an educator". SOHN Ji Ha, as the student representative, read an address that she will try hard to become an individual with competency, and be the inspiration to other students. Professor KIM Jae Hyun(Dean of College of Education), Yoo Jae Bong(Dean of Department of Education) attended the Seokdam Scholarship Donation Ceremony. Department of Education decided to put more effort in learnfare for students, by constituting a scholarship committee around the recipients of the scholarships.

- Briefing session for General Graduate School was held
- Education College of Sungkyunkwan University (Dean, Jae-Hyun Kim) held a briefing session for General Graduate School in Hoam Hall 50523 on October 2 (Wed) to increase the admission rate of graduate school. This event was attended by 30 students and applicants interested in the department of education, and more than twice as many students as in previous years. In the administrative office the event consisted of explaining the organization and professors’ current status of the College of Education. And then it guided the undergraduate curriculum and academic support systems and conducted Q & A in the department office. Yang Yoo-bin(Education major,16), who participated in this event, said, "It was a useful time to learn how to do this while checking the graduate school life of the department of education.” "We hope many students can apply for general graduate school of education major that is conducting the BK21+ project and be a great help for their research." said an official from the department of education “We will continue to hold these events periodically.”

- College of Education cooperates with Sehwa Girls' High School
- Education College of Sungkyunkwan University (Dean, Jae-Hyun Kim) signed an exchange cooperation agreement with Sehwa Girls' High School on October 7 (Thu), 2019. In order to reinforce the support of education practice and educational volunteer service system, the MOU(memorandum of understanding) was signed not only for academic cooperation but also for research and information exchange. Sehwa Girls' High School was established in 1978 as an autonomous private high school located in Seocho-gu. They aim to create creative global talent. Through this cooperation, Sehwa Girls' High School and Sungkyunkwan University have decided to cultivate leaders who lead the era of internationalization.
