Korean Education department provides numerous courses in fields of Korean Education.
Students who are following a curriculum to become a teacher should complete more than 7 courses (14 credits), in more than 5 fields of Korean Education.

2. Special Entry Requirements (Graduate)

• Those who want to enter as a Korean Education major in the Special Graduate School should have the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a similar major (ex. Korean, Korean Education, Korean Literature, Linguistics)
  • Completion of a minimum of 36 credits in majors stated above

3. Facilities

All Special Graduate School students preparing for the Teacher Appointment Test can use the reading room in the Hoam Buidling (50103). Also, there is a room equipped with computers and printers for students to practice teaching skills and produce learning materials.

Korean Education major in the Special Graduate School has competency in following aspects: 1) we foster teachers with field knowledge and good character, 2) students can decide between writing a thesis or taking more courses, and 3) upon graduation, students can earn both a graduate degree and Teacher's Certificate.

The Korean Education major in the Special Graduate School supports students with the basic knowledge of Korean and Korean education. Also, with diverse educational and Korean courses, students can be trained as teachers with field knowledge and good character.

For students who have difficulty writing a thesis, they can replace their thesis by either taking 6 more credits (2-3 courses) in their fifth semester, or simply following the curriculum to become a teacher. Students can decide how to complete the requirements for their graduation.

Students, who have the final goal of becoming a teacher, can obtain a Teacher’s Certificate as a Secondary School Teacher (Grade II) in Korean, along with their graduate degree.
