The Department of Mathematics Education provides educational courses which include the needs of recent changes in the mathematical field.We aim to foster competent teachers in mathematics and to reeducate current teachers to adapt to fast-changing teaching environments, and provide up-to-date textbook and teaching/ learning methods. Through the utilization of various mathematics education techniques and technology, students can become teachers with expertise and creativity.
Additionally, we hold diverse events for students to support their academic enthusiasm. Each semester, we invite an expert in mathematics education to introduce various topics & methods in teaching and hold a thesis conference per semester to provide opportunity for students to experience and learn in advance. Also, students can participate in a workshop each winter to encounter recent global trends of mathematics education.
For those who are following the curriculum to become a teacher, we invite lecturers who are currently working in the field, and hold mock interviews for Teacher Appointment Test.
Graduates from the Department of Mathematics Education work in diverse area related to education. Many work as teachers in middle and high schools. Some continue their studies on doctorate courses or work in HRD departments in businesses or education-related institutions.
Upon graduation, students will recieve a Teacher’s Certificate as a Secondary School Teacher (Grade II) in Mathematics along with their graduate degree.
