Learning consulting is the process that consultants provide services and advices to students or teachers in order to improve students' learning. In this process, consultants provide systematic ways of problem solving, how to give social feedback, such as encouragement, and experts' supports and directions. Those consultants are need in current society. The purpose of this course is to raise a learning consultant who helps teachers function properly in teaching situations by providing experts' knowledge on how to help students' learning problems. In this course, students will learn the theories of learning consulting and practice skills of learning consulting.

The purpose of the course is to provide opportunities for students to design and develop e-learning for the subject matter students choose or for the real clients. Various e-learning platforms will be introduced so as to help students compare and contrast different course management systems. During the semester, students will learn diverse learning theories and instructional design theories. Based on their understanding about e-learning students will design and develop three types of interactions such as interactions between student and student, between student and teacher, and student and content. Finally, students will conduct formative evaluation with the e-learning.

The purposes of this course are to introduce fast-changing trends and issues in learning technology and to expand our understanding about the impact of contemporary issues in learning technology on teaching and learning practices. For example, students will learn about massive open online course, learning analytics, flipped classroom, computational thinking, 21st century skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration. For final project, each individual student is expected to write a thought paper describing the current trends and issues in learning technology, its meanings, and implications for teaching and learning practices.

The purpose of this course is to help students become an independent researcher in the field of learning technology. Students will learn the entire process of conducting scientific research in learning technology. More specifically, students will learn and experience (a) how to choose and narrow down research topics, (b) conduct literature review, (c) design research, (d) analyze data, (e) write a research paper, and (f) publish research in an appropriate journal in the field of learning technology. During the entire semester, students will conduct a small scale research or a large scale research if they choose to do so. By the end of the semester, students will write a research paper and submit it to a national or interactional conference for presentation. Or, students may submit it to journals for publication.
EDU5160 Advanced Family Counseling and Psychotherapy 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 3 - No
This course is a deepening process of family counseling and psychotherapy. It is based on systematic approach to family interaction patterns and major theories. Review and discuss trends in a number of prior studies on controversial topics in family therapy. In addition, based on actual clinical cases, students could develop their own ability as a family counselor by repeating the practice and feedback together with the training to understand the family in an integrated manner and to form an intervention strategy.
